Saints Row USED to be Good, anybody who tells me otherwise is simply incorrect.

I am thoroughly unimpressed with the game, as it was released in an unfinished state, with a lot to be desired.

A reboot to this series, would have been a fresh breath of air, if Volition was a good enough developer to do it. The evolution of the game is a step backwards before their previous entries in the series.

This is a video essay in which I will discuss my experience with the previous games, and the new game.

Don’t get me wrong, I really wanted to like this game, I can see the potential of what it should be, but Volition removed far too much to make this a halfway decent game, if you really want to buy this game, or play it. I would strongly recommend not purchasing it at full price, and waiting until it hits the bargain bin. I do not see Volition releasing any patches to make this game something that it is not. There’s no patch for poor writing, and bad design unfortunately.

If I believed volition was able to make a halfway decent port of Saints Row 2, I’d buy it in a heartbeat, however they just proved it to me, and many other longtime fans that they aren’t interested in what we have to say.

I don’t wish any ill will on the developers who clearly were pushed into crunch for this game, nor do I wish for anybody to be hurt from this interaction, at this point, I’m just disappointed with the outcome of this game. This rebooted series is already dead in the water if this is the best they can do.

Volition, you disappoint me, and I doubt I’ll be purchasing another game anytime soon from you.
