The weapons at your disposal can be found anywhere under the game board. You will have to be very good to find them all, in fact if you use 5 clicks without finding a single ship or bomb, the game (and your bet) will be lost.

Each fleet element found has a coefficient which is automatically applied to your bet to determine the value of the payout. For example, a longship that fits in a single square pays 1.20 times the bet, while a longship two squares pays 1.60 times the bet. For ships measuring 3 or 4 squares, they will pay 2.10x and 2.50x the bet respectively.
