And that’s a wrap! In this week’s episode of Tight Poker News, we take a look back at the highlights from the World Series of Poker 2023. This year’s tournament was record breaking on many levels and we are not just talking about the massive Main Event payout of $12,100,000. We saw record attendance with over 10,000 participants, the largest Main Event attendees ever and the largest ladies’ event in history.

The Main Event was one for the books and after ten grueling days we saw Daniel Weinman take the win against Steven Jones after one hour of heads up! Congratulations Daniel, it is safe to say the whole poker community is happy for you!!

No one can forget Martin Kabrhel’s cheating scandal with accusations of marking cards which rocked AND divided the poker community. Phil Hellmuth won his 17th WSOP bracelet and the presentation was, let’s say, lac-luster at best. Maybe it was to balance his over-the-top grand entrance to the main event dressed up at The Greatest Showman. But we are all still deciding…Is he the poker G.O.A.T $$$ ?

To close things off we must pay tribute to the legend, Doyle Brunson. The poker world would not be what it is without you, R.I.P Texas Dolly.
