Veneer Replacement part 2: sanding, bleaching, filling
Mid-Century Modern coffee table restoration stream, originally aired on Twitch 10-20-21.
The table is a Mersman 8172 made with walnut legs and a walnut veneered top as part of the Sculpture Collection by the Mersman Tables company out of Mercer County, OH probably in the 1960s.
Decided to remove the badly damaged veneer and replace it instead of continuing to fight with extensive grain painting. Grain painting is fine, I just prefer to do it in much smaller segments. Replacing the veneer will also take care of the damaged, stained area in the middle of the table. — Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/snopeep
